Photography for me is a way of capturing unique moments that speak to a universal human condition. My choice of subject comes from my interest in ideas about beauty, emotional connections, and is filled by an impetuous desire to make a difference and be able to tell the stories that unfold around me. I am attempting to illustrate moments and places that allow people to connect and to feel reflected.
My expressions are both a source of pain and joy. The images show in a powerful way the things we ignore in a way that resonate somewhere deep inside us. Hoping that can take my viewer to the place of compassion. I photograph people because I am curious about what lies behind their eyes. My photography evokes connections, compassion, unity, kindness, and love. I believe in people and in the simple aspects of human life, and in their relation, I believe that man must be free, both in spirit and society, that he must build strength into the self, affirming the "the greatest gift”, that is to be alive.
My Color blindness can bring, unrealistically, colors that have appeared in my work, and I do the best I can to make it as real as possible and also I used as my artistic expression. I show the world through my eyes as is only real to me. I go with the black and white to with the photos I consider to be timeless and that are about the soul of the subject. I use digital the quality it does aloud to created magnificent prints and I am ready to retake film.
Through my photography, and the clearer understanding of myself and of my world it allows me, I find myself interested in the results of immersing myself in the story and recording my own reactions and actions to my world. Through my art I want more than to show reference memories of home and family. I express my interpretation of the world around me, but also a world of what is possible. It is my intention to create a collection of work that comes from my desire and the need of change and transformation to preserve what is relevant, what matters. And most importantly, to preserve those beautiful moments in my life
I traveled to increase my joy. When traveling, my camera acted as a bridge to the people I met and photographed. The more fun I had the better the images would be.
Originally, I started taking photos because I wanted to preserve memories and felt a need to capture that defining moment. Today, whether it be portraits or street photography, the work is most successful when it speaks to celebrating, freedom, unity, equality, and the love that is the richness of life.
When people see my work, I’d like them to see and experience who they really are.
